Referral Program Settings Overview

To create a good Referral program, store owners need to understand the needs of their customers and how their Referral program can benefit both the store and its customers.

While the Referral Activity Overview page allows store owners to monitor the Referral program's activity, the Referral settings create the backbone for the program.

LoyalGenie referral settings consist of five separate parts.

Referral Program Status

Store owners can enable or disable their Referral program with a single toggle. Having the program turned ON means that the store's Loyalty Widget and Loyalty Page will be visible to customers and all incoming orders will be processed.

However, if the program is turned OFF, the store's Loyalty Widget and Loyalty Page will not be visible to customers and all incoming orders will not be processed.

Referral Reward

Referral reward, also known as the Advocate reward, is given to the member who refers their friend. Store owners have several Advocate rewards to choose from and adjust to match the needs of their Referral program.

NOTE: Referral reward can be enabled and disabled. It is up to the store owners to decide how they want to integrate it into their Referral program.

Friend Reward

Friend reward, as its name suggests, is given to the Friend who visits the store using Advocate's referral link. Store owners have several Friend rewards to choose from and adjust to match the needs of their Referral program.

NOTE: Friend reward can be enabled and disabled. It is up to the store owners to decide how they want to integrate it into their Referral program.

Landing page

Store owners can specify the landing page that will be used for their referral links.

Social Settings

Referral program allows store owners to set different social settings for sharing referral links. The can choose between Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp.

Fraud Settings

LoyalGenie comes with automated fraud prevention that has a set of rules designed to protect the Referral program and prevent any abuse. There are two types of fraud prevention rules.

  • Self-referral rules: these rules are meant to stop advocates from using their own referral links.
  • System rules: these rules are meant to protect the Referral program from fraud, which is why they are applied automatically and cannot be turned off.

NOTE: Store owners can decide which Self-referral rules they want to keep active. By default, they are all turned ON.
